Developing Good Sketchbook Habits

Why keep a sketchbook? What do you draw? Why should you draw? Is that white page intimidating? These are the questions many artists struggle with when they think about keeping a sketchbook.

However a sketchbook is a great habit to have, and just like with anything we do, practice makes perfect. Whether for visual journaling, experimenting with new techniques, doodling, creating character ideas, or just throwing color on a page, a sketchbook is an artist’s personal tool.

In this class, students in grades 7-12 will be guided by Huntsville STEAM Works own Jessica Nunno to tap into their creativity, improve their drawing skills, and learn good regular drawing habits essential to have as an artist.

This 10-week course meets Fridays, 4pm-5:30pm. Students bring their own sketchbook and drawing materials.
