Huntsville, AL – Huntsville STEAM Works is proud to announce that the Grand Opening of its 6,000 square foot makerspace will be held on Saturday, February the 3rd at at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment.
The Grand Opening event will include a tour of the new space and all of the new equipment available at Huntsville STEAM Works, as well as a STEAM Show of maker projects from some of the best minds in Huntsville. Visitors are also encouraged to bring along their Maker and STEAM projects for an interactive Show and Tell at the event as well.
“We’re thrilled to show the Huntsville community what we’ve been working on,” said Huntsville STEAM Works Executive Director Keir Rice. “A lot of thought love has gone into ensuring that Huntsville will have the educational resource that it deserves, and we’re looking forward to facilitating that.”
Located on the first floor north wing of Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment Center, Huntsville STEAM Works will feature a woodshop, metalshop, advanced manufacturing lab, design room, workshop space, a dedicated classroom, and much more. In this new space, visitors can participate in workshops and classes or become an official Huntsville STEAM Works member and gain access to tools and expertise on a monthly basis.
“With so many geeky activities happening in the Huntsville area, we’re excited to become the go-to center for creatives, ” said STEAM Works Educational Director Jennifer Johnson. “Our resources and tools will provide the perfect way for local geeks to work on their independent cosplay, props, and other projects.”
The Grand Opening for Huntsville STEAM works is a free event, and will be from 1PM to 4PM on the first floor of Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment on Saturday, February 3rd.
