Huntsville STEAM Works Offering Winter Workshops Leading Up to Grand Opening

Huntsville, AL – Huntsville STEAM Works is launching 2017 Winter Workshops in their newly-renovated 6000 square foot STEAM facility in the North Wing of Lowe Mill.

Workshops are available for all ages, Kindergarten through adult. Lightsabers, sonic screwdrivers, and winter village houses are just a few of the things Jedis, Whovians, and Makers can create. Workshops are available from December 18th to 22nd.

“We can’t wait to share the new space with everyone ,” said STEAM Works Executive Director Keir Rice.  “These STEAM experience workshops are a great way to have fun and make something cool during your holiday downtime.”

Workshops offered will include Star Wars Days on December 18th and 19th.  These workshops will allow padawans and masters alike to make their own lightsabers, among other activities.  Other workshops include Frozen Day on December 20th, which will help participants let their creativity go and forge their own ice creations. Also available will be the Day of the Doctor on December 21st, where time lords of all ages can create their own sonic screwdrivers and intergalactic phone booths.

“We think this should be an awesome way for both kids and adults to celebrate the holidays in the universes of their favorite characters,” said STEAM Works Educational Director Jennifer Johnson.  “Creating the props of these heroes is a pretty cool way to make a memorable gift as well.”

Registration for all Huntsville STEAM Works Winter Workshops is available now through our online registration or by calling (256) 705-4327.
